Mpox: Causes, Symptoms, Medical Care and Recovery

Mpox, previously called monkeypox, is a viral illness caused by monkeypox virus (MPXV). It may cause a characteristic rash or sores, fever, swollen lymph nodes, headache, muscle aches and marked tiredness. Lesions can be painful, particularly when they affect the mouth, genitals or rectum, and symptoms can interfere with eating, urination, sleep and daily activity. Clinical appearance alone cannot reliably confirm mpox, because several infections and skin conditions can look similar (WHO, 2024; CDC, 2025).

Exercise and Weight Loss: Physiotherapy, Strength and Nutrition

Weight management is influenced by energy intake, physical activity, sleep, behaviour, medicines, health conditions and the social environment. Physiotherapy can help people with overweight or obesity build safe, progressive exercise routines that improve fitness, strength and function. Exercise contributes to energy expenditure and long-term weight maintenance, while dietary changes are usually needed to create a sustained energy deficit for meaningful weight loss (Bull et al., 2020; Centers for Disease Control and Prevention [CDC], 2024).

Stroke Risk Factors: Prevention and Emergency Warning Signs

A stroke is a medical emergency that occurs when blood flow to part of the brain is blocked or when a blood vessel in or around the brain ruptures. Brain cells can be injured within minutes, so rapid recognition and treatment are essential. Stroke can affect people of any age, although the likelihood rises with age and certain health conditions. Risk is shaped by a combination of medical history, blood-vessel health, lifestyle, family history and social circumstances. Understanding these factors helps people take practical steps to reduce risk without assuming that a stroke is inevitable (World Health Organization [WHO], 2025; Centers for Disease Control and Prevention [CDC], 2024).

Headache and Migraine: Symptoms, Assessment and Management

Headache is one of the most common neurological complaints and may arise from a primary headache disorder or from another medical condition. Migraine is a disabling neurological disorder characterized by recurrent attacks, often with nausea and sensitivity to light or sound. Correct classification matters because management differs between migraine, tension-type headache, cluster headache and secondary causes (World Health Organization [WHO], 2025; Headache Classification Committee of the International Headache Society [IHS], 2018).
